Tom Bradley International Terminal

Los Angeles World Airport

Client: Clark Construction/McCarthy Building Company

Working with Clark/McCarthy Construction, Marina Design Group and Marina Construction were a part of the design-build team for the exterior renovation of the Tom Bradley International Airport Terminal. The principals worked with the Clark/McCarthy Construction team and their LEED consultant to develop a green renovation strategy in regard to the exterior landscape. The design concept was to simplify the existing landscape and identify a strategy for efficient water use. The design proposal included removal of overgrown trees and plant material, as well as high water use plants. These areas are redesigned with native and adaptive plant material, decomposed granite in high-traffic areas as well as an efficient irrigation system to minimize water waste.
