Bob Cowan

Robert (Bob) Cowan is the CEO of Marina Landscape, Inc., one of California's largest independent Landscape Firms specializing in landscape and irrigation construction, maintenance, landscape architecture, erosion control, and design build projects. A visionary CEO, Bob has built his company from when he was just 12 years old into a thriving enterprise, celebrating its 54th birthday in 2025. Throughout the years, Marina has been recognized by our peers and customers as the recipient of several prestigious awards, including seven Associated General Contractors (AGC) Constructor Awards, and numerous honors and accolades.

Bob is a forward-thinking executive with an established record of driving crucial changes in landscape construction operations to boost operations and meet changing demands. Equipped to transform teams at all levels to maintain responsiveness and meet operational challenges head-on is a result of his strong organizational and people skills, strategic problem solving, and effective communication and delegation proficiencies.

Throughout his fifty-plus years career, Bob has focused on growing profits with multi-pronged strategies. He excels in management, leadership and team building and is skilled at identifying and implementing process improvements to drive efficiency and productivity. His professional experience and involvement as CEO of Marina includes directing and overseeing Marina's budgetary and financial activities, negotiating contracts, analyzing performance indicators, financial statements and sales and field operations reports, developing ambitious business strategies, and effectively managing a team of over eight hundred employees. Bob is a motivating leader with proven success and has fostered change in Marina's culture to be more open, transparent, and accountable.

When not working, Bob is an avid reader and world traveler who enjoys exploring new cultures and perspectives. An amateur photographer, he captures the beauty of his journeys through his lens. Bob is also deeply committed to giving back—he donates his time and resources to a variety of charitable organizations and encourages his employees to join him in supporting causes that strengthen the community.
